I’m proud to share that Governor Gavin Newsom has endorsed our campaign for the Board of Equalization and is placing his trust in me as a partner in California’s ongoing fight against Trump.

From a woman’s right to access an abortion, to the integrity of our elections and democratic institutions, and our communities’ right to be safe from terror from masked federal agents, California has faced constant attacks from the Trump Administration.

In the State Senate, I authored the No Kings law to prevent Trump from appearing on California’s ballot for an unconstitutional third term, backed legislation to hold federal immigration agents accountable when civil rights are violated, and have spoken out clearly when abuses of power cross the line. I’m honored to have the support of a Governor who understands the stakes and the importance of proven partners in the fights ahead.

Californians expect those entrusted with authority to exercise it carefully, lawfully, and in the open. That standard applies everywhere it matters, including the Board of Equalization, where fairness and accountability must guide every decision.

Throughout my public service, I have believed that power must be exercised lawfully, transparently, and with a clear sense of responsibility to the people we serve. The Board of Equalization requires careful oversight of our tax system and a commitment to fairness for working families and small businesses across California. It is a role that calls for experience, sound judgment, and the willingness to insist on accountability.

Governor Newsom’s endorsement adds to the growing momentum behind this campaign and reflects a broad coalition of Democratic leaders, organized labor, and supporters who believe in experienced, principled leadership for California.
